1 Hour Balsamic Vinegar and Whiskey Steak Marinade

Dinner a few nights ago. The steak was marinated in something's found on pinterest which was
"1 Hour Balsamic Vinegar and Whiskey Steak Marinade.
1 shot glass of Balsamic
1 shot glass of Whiskey
Rub steak with salt and pepper.
Marinade for 1 hour"

It was delicious and I will make again. The side items are fried potatoes and home style mac n cheese. If you don't make the sides, the steak is a must try!

Cheese Tree For Christmas

This was so simple and cute! I saw something on Pinterest and it just inspired me to make this. I didn't see this on Pinterest at all. All I did was get some button mushrooms to slice and make as the trunk of the tree and pick 5 different cheeses and cut them up into cubes (since I bought the block) and put them out by layer starting at the bottom and making it smaller as I got to the top. On the very top I cut a price of mozzarella and then used a star cookie cutter. In between the layers I placed fresh thyme and some grape tomatoes. At the last minute I decided to sprinkle feta over the top.

Oreo Balls.

This was not on Pinterest (shock I know) oreo balls are amazing yet a pain the butt to make! The recipe I have is as follows:

1 package regular size Oreo cookies, crushed
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
1 package white almond bark
1 package chocolate almond bark

First, use a blender or food processor to crush the oreos. Second, mix the crushed oreos with the softened cream cheese with a kitchen aid or hand held mixer. Third, roll into walnut size balls (I use a tiny Mellon baller to make them all the same size). Fourth, chill in the freezer for an hour or longer (I always do it for a few hours). Melt just a little of your white almond bark (I melt 2 squares as I go) and stick a toothpick in the oreo ball and roll in the melted white chocolate. Put wax paper on a cookie sheet and put your white chocolate dipped balls on that. When you're done put them back in the freezer for a few hours. Now, melt the chocolate and put in a zip lock bag and cut a small hole in one of the bottom corners. Take the balls out of the freezer and drizzle the chocolate over all the balls. After you're done with that put them in the freezer until right before serving. Told you they were a pain. I only make them once a year! Let me just say I made them for Christmas 2012 and my husbands friends are willing to pay me to make them some. Enjoy! 🍴

Crepes

I found a crepe recipe on Pinterest (yes, I'm addicted) anyway the recipe was pretty basic..

4 eggs
1/2 c butter, melted
1/3 c sugar
1 c flour
1 c milk
1/4 c water
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt

I used my kitchen aid mixer and mixed all the ingredients together EXCEPT the flour. After all your ingredients are mixed well then you slowly start to sprinkle in your cup of flour and continue to mix until incorporated. I used a 6" pan and heated it just above medium (to be exact I put it on 6). Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into skillet. I pour straight from my mixer bowl. Just make sure there is enough batter to cover the bottom of the pan with a THIN, THIN, THIN layer of batter. SWIRL pan around until bottom of pan is covered with batter. COOK for about 30 seconds, or until edges easily lift up with spatula. FLIP, COOK for 5-10 seconds. Crepe should slide right out of pan. Use wax paper between crepes. Makes about 24 crepes. After you eat, they are already separated by wax paper (I did mine as I went) so you can put in a freezer safe zip lock bag and reheat as needed. They will last about 2 months in the freezer and are easy to reheat. Just take out the same pan you cooked them in (well the same size) heat up the dry pan, again on 6, and cook them about 30 seconds or until warm and serve how ever you want. I usually do Nutella with Splenda sprinkled on top or cream cheese with Splenda sprinkled on top. Enjoy!🍴

Grilled Cheese?

I found something on Pinterest that was spinach, goat cheese and avocado. Well I wanted to change that up so what I did was use spinach, feta and tomato. It was so amazing I made another immediately after I finished eating the first one. What I did was put an even layer of spinach on one side, then a layer of feta and finally the tomato. I put the top piece of the bread on and then put it on my George Foreman and pressed the lid down as much as I could for a few seconds and then just left it on until it was golden. Now you're ready to eat it. Enjoy! 🍴

Grilled Chicken.

This was a Pinterest find and I decided to try it. Well I made some changes to the recipe and it was amazing! My husband won't eat spinach but he did this night and said I'd have to make this again. What did I do? I grilled the chicken on my George Foreman with salt &pepper until it was done. While that was working I had the oven preheating to 400 degrees. Now multitask after you get both of those things started heat a pan on medium to medium high heat and add some olive oil with some salt &pepper, 3 cloves of garlic (Rachel Ray taught me to grate the garlic instead of chop, it's so much easier and better) after that's heated add enough spinach to divide between how many pieces if chicken your cooking - remember spinach shrinks when you cook it. After the spinach mixture is heated through and your chicken is done decide it on the chicken then put mozzarella on top of the spinach. This is where I changed it I added a few chopped jalapeños and Greek olives to the top. I then put some tomato on the of that and then finally some green onion. Now, put it in the oven long enough to just melt the cheese and then you're done. Serve with any side item you'd like. Enjoy! 🍴

My Blogs Purpose.

This blog was created for me to write about my thoughts. I'm also going to do some food blogging. I love to cook and make my dishes look pretty (I'm creative) and also photography is my passion. So what better way to take more pictures when I'm not snapping little ones? Food photography! 😊📷
